Ultra Music festival was founded by Russell Failbisch and Alex Omes. Russel Failbisch is festival and concert promoter who started out in the electronic music industry by hosting underground warehouse events and raves in Miami. It was through his promotion of events where he met co-founder Alex Omes. Failbisch had taken an ad out in a house-music magazine that caught Omes’ eye. Alex Omes was the publisher of D’VOX magazine and after a short time of knowing each other they conceptualized and launched Ultra Music Festival. Today, the festival is known a THE global electronic dance music festival and has expanded its brand to international locations such as Singapore, Korea, Croatia, Brazil, Thailand and Argentina.
